My Golf and My Life Lessons

I approach my golf game

as I do my life.

I own my  mistakes

and bad shots

And know I need improvement.

Along the way, I execute enough great shots

(In my opinion)

To enjoy my game every time.

Bragging only a little,

Maintains the truth

Of my imperfection.

My game includes sufficient shots

Better than the other players

(I know no perfect golfers)

To hold my own and be of value

In a scramble.

And like in life,

There are scads of opportunities

For value lessons:

J          TOLERANCE

     for the slow foursome ahead.

J          PATIENCE

with my partner’s style of play.

J          ACCEPTANCE

     of my partner’s skill &

     resistance to criticizing bad shots.

J          GRATITUDE

     for the opportunity to play

     with another.

J          RESPECT

for my clubs so that I do

not blame & throw them in frustration.

J          RESPONSIBILITY

to play my best and repair my divots.

But most of all when my game REALLY disappoints,

I know I have neglected it.
