  1. Rank your Priorities. Each partner completes one list in private.
  2. Be sure to include your thoughts when you rank your priorities.
  3. Do not discuss or compare until both have completed.
  4. Identify where you match. Those are your strengths. Focus on them.
  5. Pick out any priorities that are switched: He has a 1 and she has a 6 for the same category OR she has 2 and he has a 5. These are important differences.
  6. Discuss in detail the switched or reversed priorities.
  7. Are you actually using your time consistent with your priorities? Do your priorities get most of you free time??
  8. Does your use of free time contribute to conflicts with your spouse?
  9.  Is it time to reevaluate your use of free time?
