Weight Loss as a New Year’s Resolution – Part 4
by Dr. Coach Love
In Part 1 I talked about the reasons for New Year’s Resolutions failures and suggested 8 planning tips for success in Parts 2&3.As you set your goals and make your plan to achieve them, here are 5 more basic goal-setting tips to review:
|
1. Be kind and positive with yourself.
2. Breakdown your larger goals into small parts.
3. Reward yourself for short-term successes.
4. Develop a mantra, which is a brief statement you repeat– “I will find success. I will find success. I will find success.”— or something else simple and inspirational to you personally: “I love myself at every weight.” The purpose of a mantra is to develop a positive mindset.
5. Remember that if you do not find success, you have not failed. Your plan was flawed. Figure it out. Modify it. Stick with it.
|
Bottom line — whether you set a New Year’s resolution or establish a goal, success is in front of you. Grab your doubting friends, huddle as a team, and encourage each one to establish a self-improvement goal for 2009 along with you. Take your good life and make it great!
Got goals? You can do it!
What do you think?
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
